CWC Paperwork STAFF AWARDS

City Of Westminster College Staff Awards 2014 - Proposal

Proposal: The staff awards is an event held every year at the end of the Summer term, where different staff members from different departments of the college are rewarded for their excellence as a teacher, there long service or for a retiree. The show will last an hour long.

Audience: The audience for the staff awards will be between the age of 25-60. The seating amount will be 250.

Videos: For the title sequence to set the tone for the staff awards there should be a lot of humour to get the audience comfortable and excited, but also to represent the college in the right way, since it is all about the staff and what they have contributed to college it is important to show the staff at work, showing the staff interacting with there students. Also showing the great aspects within the college such as different facilities  like the gym, dance studio, libary, & the canteen. I would also like to add other members of the college who contribute just as much as staff do like Security Guards, Dinner Ladies & Admins. Staff will be shown also interacting with eachother having a laugh to show they enjoy what there doing and showing that unity between staff members. A feel good soundtrack will also be played in the background.

For the interviews I think it should be more than one person talking about their peer they nominated, it should be group interviews so that it makes it more funny and so the staff can vibe of eachother and relating their different answers for example if it was a funny moment they shared with that particular person. The interviews should take place in their style of work so if its a memeber of staff from the libary the interview should take place in the libary or a staff room in the libary so it makes the audience aware of what this person does in the college. During the interviews it will be cutting back and forth from the interview to showing the person who is nominated working. For interviews such as for the retiree & long service category at the end of each interview a special message will be said to make that person feel appreciated and that there hardwork contributed to the college was/has been appreciated. Not only should staff be interviewed but also students of those staffs to get everybody involved.

Staging: When it comes to the whole set up of the stage, I think the lights should represent the different colours of the college. On the projector the college logo should be up. There could also be a red carpet leading up to where the staff members are going to collect their awards to make them feel special and proud of there achievements and to also give a little speech when collecting there award on stage. Each category could also have there own lighting referring to the college colours. Photographers will also be taking pictures after staff members have collected their awards.

Ending: At the end a clip will be shown with a special message from the Vice Principal & Principal congratulating all staff members and thanking everyone for coming. To end it on a funny note outtakes should be shown of staff members messing up during the interview.
