Westminster Mile Run Proposal

Title: Westminster mile run

Length: 2-3 mintues

Requirements: The client would like us to get footage of the runners, interviews, voxpops on the day which will go on the westminster mile website.

Purpose:
The reason for this is to show people who could not attend the event or who would like an insight of the event that would like to participate next year an idea of what happened and also encourage people to get out and participate in these fun events as it's a fun experience but also it helps people have a healthier lifestyle and once people watch how much fun it is would want to join in and tell others about it. This video will include Olympic Athlete Mo Farah who a lot of youngsters look up to and Paralympic Athlete David Weir who are both inspirational and will encourage the youth to get involved since their favourite Athlete will be there. The event will be celebrating Diane Leather becoming the first woman to run a mile in under five minutes and the 60th anniversary of Sir Roger Bannister becoming the first man to break the four minute mile.
How I would like to film the mile is have my crew at different areas of the race start, middle, and ending to capture all moments and also some people filming spectators watching and interviewing them.

Concept:
The concept is to film every aspect of the westminster mile run from start to finish to spectators and getting interviews and voxpops not just from just people participating but the big name athlete's that will be there. It would also help to inspire the everyone to get involved in these activities since their favourtie athlete will be getting involved. Having the big name athletes will be one of the main attratction for such big names like Mo Farah who was such a poster boy at the 2012 olympic athletes and David weir will attract not just youth but other people that are into sport like older people to be apart of the big day. David weir will be trying to set a record there so hopefully that will help the youth see where hard work can get you and give them motivation. With my camera crew there will be 3 people per teams and one main photographer capturing moments within the race. We will use a lot of long shots to get the full body of the runners, close-ups to see runners and spectators facial expressions.

Target audience:
Our main target audience will be everyone because we want to encourage them to get out and be apart of this event which will give them determation but also to have a healthier lifestyle. It will appeal to the everybody because I will include different people such as families, wheel chair users, juniors that have competed previsiously in advertisement and done very well and also the fact that their role models for the juniors (Mo Farah & David Weir) will be there.
